The debated, American and Israeli-supported Gaza relief foundation declares it is concluding its humanitarian work in the Palestinian territory, subsequent to approximately 180 days.

The group had earlier paused its multiple aid distribution centers in Gaza following the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel took effect six weeks ago.

The foundation sought to avoid UN systems as the main supplier of relief to Palestinian residents.

United Nations organizations and other humanitarian groups refused to co-operate with its methodology, saying it was improper and dangerous.

Numerous Gazans were killed while trying to acquire nourishment amid turbulent circumstances near the organization's distribution points, mostly by Israeli fire, as reported by United Nations.

The Israeli military claimed its forces fired alerting fire.

Mission Completion

The organization declared on Monday that it was concluding activities now because of the "effective conclusion of its emergency mission", with a total of three million packages containing the corresponding to over 187 million food portions provided to residents.

The organization's top administrator, the foundation leader, also said the United States-operated coordination body - which has been established to help carry out the American administration's Gaza initiative - would be "taking over and developing the model GHF piloted".

"The organization's system, in which Hamas could no longer loot and profit from stealing aid, played a huge role in getting Hamas to the table and achieving a ceasefire."

Feedback and Statements

Hamas - which denies stealing aid - supported the shutdown of the GHF, based on information.

A representative of stated GHF should be held accountable for the damage it inflicted to Palestinians.

"We request all worldwide humanitarian bodies to guarantee that responsibility is assigned after causing the death and injury of numerous Palestinians and covering up the starvation policy implemented by the Israel's administration."

Operational Background

The GHF began operations in Gaza on late May, a short period subsequent to the Israeli government had moderately reduced a total blockade on relief and commercial goods to Gaza that continued for 77 days and led to substantial deficiencies of essential supplies.

Subsequently, a famine was declared in the Gaza metropolitan area.

The organization's sustenance provision locations in southern and central Gaza were managed by American private security firms and positioned in areas controlled by Israeli forces.

Humanitarian Concerns

United Nations agencies and their collaborators said the methodology contravened the core assistance standards of non-partisanship, even-handedness and self-determination, and that channelling desperate people into military-controlled areas was fundamentally dangerous.

United Nations human rights division reported it tracked the deaths of a minimum of 859 residents seeking food in the area surrounding organization centers between late May through end of July.

Another 514 people were killed near the routes of UN and other aid convoys, it added.

The majority of these individuals were fatally wounded by the Israeli military, according to the office.

Conflicting Accounts

Israel's armed services stated its troops had discharged cautionary rounds at persons who advanced toward them in a "threatening" way.

The GHF said there were no firearm incidents at the relief locations and accused the UN of using "untrue and confusing" figures from the Gazan medical department controlled by militant factions.

Future Implications

The GHF's future had been uncertain since militant groups and the Israeli government approved a ceasefire deal to carry out the primary segment of the United States' reconciliation proposal.

The arrangement specified aid distribution would take place "free from intervention from the involved factions through the international bodies and their affiliates, and the humanitarian medical organization, in combination with other worldwide bodies not connected in any way" with Hamas and Israel.

UN spokesperson the international body's communicator said on Monday that the GHF's shutdown would have "zero effect" on its work "as we never partnered with them".

He also said that while additional assistance was reaching the Palestinian territory since the halt in hostilities began on 10 October, it was "not enough to address all necessities" of the 2.1 million residents.
