Liverpool's Star Offers Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his public comments.
The Incident
He was omitted from a European match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a good place,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
