'Living a Nightmare': Families of Unaccounted For Teenagers Await News After Alpine Fire

The relatives of teens lost after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's ski resort are confronting an excruciating wait for official news and appealing for any details about their children via social media.

The inferno engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Verified footage reveal the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the those who perished of the disaster, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another over a hundred. Officials stated on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been identified, with work continuing to name the remaining few.

In the waiting period, relatives have been using social media to appeal for information about their missing relatives who were present at the venue that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are not yet determined, according to an heartfelt request from his family.

The who lives of Lutry near the city, informed a publication that she had returned to the city to see if he was in the hospital, while his father did the equivalent search in the capital, but could not find him.

"I'm living a nightmare, an ordeal. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. It's terrible," she stated.

She continued that some of his peers had been located with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's unspeakable; they went through a terrifying ordeal."

The Italian government has confirmed that a number of of its nationals remain missing.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last heard from around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage junior golfer, who hailed from Genoa but now residing in Dubai.

The national sporting body has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the fire, honoring a "young athlete who embodied dedication and authentic values."

His father, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An official spokesperson has clarified that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also unaccounted for. His parent told reporters that he had been on vacation but had gone out with a group and found himself at the bar.

"A companion informed me they ran away after the fire started and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he couldn't see him anymore," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators stated, "I've always been struck by his kindness and smile, alongside great responsibility. Every time offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in the country, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has published an urgent request on social media, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Consular authorities from her country of origin say they are closely watching the case.
