Top-ranked Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Accolades.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second consecutive year.
The 27-year-old won four titles – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of High Performance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.
She earned nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a new level".

- Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, was voted after taking extended hiatus after the arrival of her first child and returning to the sport earlier this season.
- Rookie of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko picked up the award after beginning the season ranked outside the world's top 300 and soaring to world number 18.
- Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after capturing their second career Grand Slam title as a pair.
- Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after reaching five finals.
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz won three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
